Students from the Digital Journalism group enjoyed an inspiring visit to the local college, where they took part in a hands‑on creative media workshop. The session introduced them to the world of 3D image creation, giving them the chance to experiment with digital tools used in the industry.

During the visit, students explored how optical illusions are made, learning how simple 2D shapes, shading, and lighting techniques can be combined to create images that appear strikingly real. They also discovered the different study pathways available in Creative Media, including BTEC Level 1 and Level 2 courses, and gained insight into the opportunities the college offers for future progression.

Alongside the learning experience, students enjoyed cookies and juice while speaking with staff and getting a feel for the college environment. The visit provided a valuable glimpse into both the creative process and the educational routes that can lead to careers in media and digital design.
