Students from the Digital Careers (Computing) group enjoyed an insightful visit to Asda in Colne on Thursday 5th February, where they explored how information technology supports everyday operations in a large retail environment. As part of their research task, students took part in an IT treasure hunt, identifying technologies ranging from CCTV systems to barcode scanners. A store assistant demonstrated how handheld devices are used to track prices and monitor stock levels, giving students a real-world look at workplace digital systems.
