Students from the Digital Careers group enjoyed an engaging and insightful visit to Currys in Burnely on 22nd of May,  where they explored how modern information technology is used in a real retail environment. As part of their research task, they took part in an IT treasure hunt, recording the different technologies they discovered throughout the store. They spoke with retail assistants about a range of products, recognised familiar devices from home, and learned about new smart technologies. The visit supported key learning objective by giving students meaningful encounters with employees and first‑hand experience of a workplace where digital systems play a vital role.
