I’m thrilled to share that I’ve successfully completed the Be thAT Teacher Assistive Technology Course – a transformative learning experience that deepened my understanding of how technology can empower students of all abilities.
This course wasn’t just about tools and devices – it was about mindset. It challenged me to think differently about inclusion, accessibility, and the role of educators in creating equitable learning environments. From exploring low-tech supports to diving into high-tech solutions like speech-to-text, screen readers, and alternative input devices, every module reinforced one key message: assistive technology is not a luxury—it’s a lifeline for many learners.
What I Gained:
- Practical strategies for integrating AT into everyday teaching.
- Confidence in identifying and recommending appropriate tools for diverse needs.
- Insight into the legal and ethical responsibilities around accessibility.
- Inspiration from real-world case studies and teacher stories.
