On 24 April 2026, our Digital Journalism students welcomed visitor Saj Butt from 3B Systems, Nelson for an inspiring careers-focused session. As part of their learning objectives, students practised asking interview‑style questions and developed their skills in recording a video or podcast. This visit supported several key educational objectives, including learning from careers information, linking curriculum learning to real‑world careers, and providing meaningful encounters with employers. Students showed outstanding confidence, took the task seriously, and even asked additional questions beyond their scripts. During the visit, they rehearsed interview questions, toured Saj around different classes, and filmed a full video interview. It was a fantastic opportunity for our young journalists to gain hands‑on experience and personal guidance from an industry professional.
