World Autism Awareness Week commenced on Monday 1st April and is an internationally recognised event encouraging people to take part in activities to raise money and awareness for the National Autistic Society. PCHS&C took part in lots of autism themed activities and on the last day of term we will be having a Rainbow non uniform day.

On Tuesday 2nd April, we welcomed a guest speaker, Alex Lowery to come in for an autism awareness workshop and talk to our parents, carers, families and students about his personal experience of living with autism. The talk was very insightful and lots of our students found it really useful and were able to relate to Alex’s story. Alex then came along to our staff meeting where he gave another talk about the issues he has faced and how he copes with his autism on a day to day basis. The staff found Alex really interesting and took a lot of information and strategies from the meeting.
