This morning, we held a coffee morning with the theme of supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing. Alison McConville, Family Liaison Officer (FLO) was joined by the two newest members of the pastoral team, Karen Butcher and Amy Phillips, both Senior Learning Mentors, to deliver the event. They were also joined by Linda Dempsey, our School Counsellor and Trevor Ashton, Chair of Governors.

The event was well attended by parents and carers and we discussed the different ways in which we support our pupils with their emotional well-being. This included things such as our Thrive sessions, sessions with the school counsellor, Emotional Literacy Support Assistant  sessions (ELSA), Drawing and Talking, sand play and sensory lifestyles.

We also had discussions about the ways we support our own emotional well-being as parents/carers. We shared lots of ideas and strategies and we were able to signpost to other relevant agencies. It was lovely to see some new parents/carers who have never attended one of our coffee mornings before, although they were a little camera shy!
