This half term the themes classes, including Calder, have been looking at the topic of Space and space travel. All of the students in Calder have had the opportunity to drive the “moon buggy” on the moon (a decorated Drive deck in the sensory room! The students were dressed as astronauts for the session with white suits and a helmet and used the control panel on the lunar model to get around. They were each also given the chance to experience ‘weightlessness’ by having a bounce on the moon gym ball whilst attached to the hoist. Everyone has loved this topic!
